About Barbakan Delicatessen:

Around fifty years ago, a pair of Polish brothers established the Barbakan Delicatessen. Back then, it was a tiny bakery and in 1985, Stefan Najduch took over the bakery. What was once a small bakery became a nationally award winning craft bakery and delicatessen.

The Barbakan is named after the famous ‘Barbakan’ historic gateway in the ancient city of Krakow, Poland.

Barbakan’s Best sellers:

Their ‘Contadina’ bread is made up of tomatoes, olives, Italian cheese and mixed herbs, and won ‘Speciality Bread Product of the Year’ at the Baking Industry Awards 2012. Their ‘Chorlton Sourdough’ is one of our best sellers – thanks to a secret recipe! Barbakan’s customers also can’t get enough of our Polish Cheesecake, or our Vienese Mince Pies (which they sell all year round!).
