You will need:

Butter or margarine, softened 150g
porridge oats 250g
plain flour 80g
Baking powder 1tsp
Ground cloves 1/2 tsp
Cinnamon 100g
California raisins 150g
Milk 3 tbsp

Makes 40 cookies


Preparation Method:

1. Set the oven to 180ºC/350ºF/Gas 4. Line a baking sheet with non-stick paper.

2. In large mixing bowl, blend together butter and sugar; beat well until smooth and soft.

3. Sift together flour, baking powder, cloves and cinnamon. Add to the bowl with the oats and raisins. Mix well. Add the milk and stir to mix to a soft dough.

4. Divide the dough into 4 portions. Shape one portion into 10 x 15g or 2.5cm balls. Press each ball flat with the hands.

5. Place apart on the baking sheet. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, or until golden brown. Repeat with remaining mixture. Cool then remove to wire rack until cold.
